Emmy grew up in the home counties in the 1970’s. She trained as a nurse, a midwife and a health visitor in Reading and moved to Wiltshire in 2005 to escape the Rat Race and I still works for the NHS.
Emmy was diagnosed with dyslexia at the age of 40, having struggled for many years with the challenges of being undiagnosed, and periods of depression. It was over 10 years ago, during a period of ill health that she came up with the idea for her debut novel. However, it took her a further 7 years to have the confidence to write it. Once she began putting pen to paper, Twisted Thread took only 2 years to write.
Writing has always been a hobby and cathartic experience for Emmy. Even as a young child she would conjure up stories with her imagination, sharing them with anyone who was around to listen. She has developed her storytelling and writing quite a bit since then, but the essence of creativity and entertainment she began with as a kid has remained a major influence on her work. Back then she only ever wrote short poems or stories, but never thought she would ever write a novel. For that she is rightfully very proud.
Emmy has been writing professionally since 2018 and has no intention of slowing down anytime soon.
