Philip Middleton Davies

Philip Middleton Davies was educated at Charterhouse. He started his National Service in January 1950 as a private soldier in The Sherwood Foresters.

He completed his service to the nation in 1986 as a two-star general.

He has travelled and lived all over the world, including Korea, Malaysia, Egypt, Cyrpus, Libya, and Berlin. He is a graduate of the Staff College, The National Defence College, and The Royal College of Defence Studies.

The Author was married to Mona (neé Wallace) for 63 years. Tragically both Mona and much-loved elder daughter Jacqueline passed away in 2020. This book is in their memory.

This book is a memoir of growing up during World War II in the south of England. The “Peace” that follows is a record of a turbulent but exciting life. A lengthy worldwide adventure drawing to a close after six years of living in south west France.
