Almost two decades ago, a then young nineteen-year old man from Bangladesh, Shipon took the decision to move to the UK. Shipon loves his homeland of Bangladesh, but wanted to broaden his experiences, live a different lifestyle, meet different people. He had dreamt of a life in the UK, but also of seeing the world. He had so many dreams, dreams he hoped/hope to fulfil.
Shipon’s diary begins as he bids a tearful farewell to his family and friends and to his beloved Bangladesh and sets off to the United Kingdom. Whilst he is sad to be leaving his family and the land he loves, he is also full of hope, of expectation, but nervous, apprehensive and scared too.
